Flood Plains National Park

Flood Plains National Park is a beautiful and green area located in the heart of Sri Lanka, specifically in the Polonnaruwa district. It is a very special park because it sits right along the Mahaweli River. The land is mostly made up of “villus” or marshy areas that fill up with water when it rains. It was created to help protect the animals when the government built big dams nearby. It is famous for being a “travel corridor” for elephants, which means they use this park to move from one forest to another.

ගංවතුර තැන්න ජාතික උද්‍යානය

ගංවතුර තැන්න ජාතික උද්‍යානය යනු ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ පොලොන්නරුව දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ පිහිටා ඇති ඉතාමත් සුන්දර සහ හරිතවත් ප්‍රදේශයකි. මෙම උද්‍යානය විශේෂ වන්නේ එය මහවැලි නදිය දෙපස පිහිටා තිබීම නිසාය. මෙහි වැඩිපුරම ඇත්තේ “විල්ලු” හෙවත් වැසි කාලයට ජලයෙන් පිරී යන පහත් බිම් සහ වගුරු බිම් ය. රජය විසින් මහවැලි ව්‍යාපෘතිය යටතේ වේලි ඉදි කරන විට සතුන්ගේ ආරක්ෂාව වෙනුවෙන් මෙම උද්‍යානය වෙන් කරන ලදී. මෙය අලි ඇතුන් එක් වනාන්තරයක සිට තවත් වනාන්තරයකට ගමන් කරන ප්‍රධාන මාවතක් (Corridor) ලෙසද ඉතා ප්‍රසිද්ධය.

🚌 බස් රථයකින්: පොලොන්නරුවට බස් රථයකින් පැමිණ, එතැන් සිට ටුක්-ටුක් (ත්‍රීරෝද රථයක්) හෝ කුලී රථයක් මගින් උද්‍යාන පිවිසුමට යා හැකිය.
