Mana Ella Waterfall (Manawala Ella)

Mana Ella, also known as Manawala Ella, is a beautiful hidden gem located in the Lunuwatte area of the Badulla District in Sri Lanka. It is about 23 meters (75 feet) tall. The waterfall is very special because it is surrounded by lush green tea plantations and misty mountains.

The water starts from seven unique stone basins at the top. As it flows down, it splits into two parts. One side falls straight down, while the other hits a rock and spreads out. This spreading water looks just like the colorful feathers of a dancing peacock! This unique shape makes it one of the most interesting waterfalls to see in the Uva Province.

Mana Ella is located near Welimada. Here is how you can reach it:

🚗 From Welimada: Travel towards Lunuwatte via Ambagasdowa. It is about 13-15 km away.

🚗 The Last Leg: Once you reach Lunuwatte town, travel about 0.5 km. Look for the Lunuwatte Ganadevi Temple. There is a small dirt road near the bridge that leads to the waterfall (about 200-300 meters walk).

📍 Transport: You can use a Tuk-tuk or a private vehicle. The road can be small, so big buses might find it hard.
