Single Tree Hill (also known as One Tree Hill or Shanthipura Hill) is a beautiful, quiet mountain peak located in Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka. Standing at about 2,100 meters above sea level, it is the tenth highest peak on the island.
The hill gets its unique name from a single, large tree that once stood lonely on its summit. Today, it is famous for hosting the highest village in Sri Lanka, called Shanthipura. The entire hill is covered with bright green tea gardens, whispering eucalyptus trees, and soft mist. It is one of the best places in Nuwara Eliya to enjoy a peaceful walk away from the busy town crowds, offering a panoramic view of the entire valley below.

🚶 By Foot: If you love walking, you can start right from the Nuwara Eliya town center. The walk takes about 1 to 1.5 hours to reach the top.
🚗 By Car / Van: A vehicle can drive up most of the concrete road leading toward the village,but walking the final stretch is highly recommended to enjoy the scenery.
