Angammedilla National Park

Angammedilla National Park is a beautiful and peaceful wildlife park located in the North Central Province of Sri Lanka, near Polonnaruwa. It was originally a forest reserve meant to protect the drainage area of the Parakrama Samudra (a giant ancient lake). It officially became a National Park in 2006. The park covers about 7,500 hectares and is famous for its thick forests, rocky hills, and the beautiful Amban River that flows through it.

🚌 By Bus: You can take a bus to Polonnaruwa and then hire a Tuk-Tuk or a safari jeep to reach the park entrance.
