Devon Falls, known as the “Veil of the Valley,” is a breathtaking waterfall in the scenic highlands of Sri Lanka. Standing tall at 97 meters, it is one of the most captivating waterfalls in the country. The name “Devon” comes from an English coffee planter who once owned the surrounding lands, highlighting the area’s colonial history.
The waterfall is fed by a tributary of the Kothmale Oya, which later joins the Mahaweli River, Sri Lanka’s longest river. Nestled in the cool and misty landscapes of Nuwara Eliya, Devon Falls is a popular spot for photography, relaxation, and sightseeing.
