Devon Falls

Devon Falls is one of the most beautiful and famous waterfalls in Sri Lanka. It is often called the “Hero of the Falls” because of its grand appearance. Named after a pioneer English coffee planter named Devon, this waterfall drops from a height of 97 meters (about 318 feet).

It is located in the Talawakelle area, surrounded by lush green tea estates. Unlike some waterfalls where you have to hike deep into the woods, Devon Falls is very easy to see right from the main road. Its wide, white veil of water crashing against the rocks makes it a perfect stop for anyone traveling through the hill country.

📍 From Nuwara Eliya: It is roughly a 45 minute to 1-hour drive from Nuwara Eliya city.
