It stretches across the Uppu Aru, which is a place where the famous Mahaweli River meets the sea at Koddiyar Bay. This bridge is 315 meters (about 1,033 feet) long and is a vital part of the A15 highway that connects the cities of Batticaloa and Trincomalee. Before this bridge was built, people had to use a ferry to cross the water, which took a lot of time. Now, it is a fast and easy path for everyone.

උප්පාරු පාලම යනු ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ත්‍රිකුණාමලය දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ පිහිටි සුන්දර මෝය පාලමකි. සුප්‍රසිද්ධ මහවැලි ගඟ කොඩ්ඩියාර් බොක්කේදී මුහුදට එකතු වන “උප්පු ආරු” නම් ස්ථානයේ මෙම පාලම ඉදි කර ඇත. මීටර් 315ක් පමණ දිග මෙම පාලම, මඩකලපුව සහ ත්‍රිකුණාමලය යා කරන A15 මහා මාර්ගයේ වැදගත් කොටසකි. මෙම පාලම ඉදි කිරීමට පෙර මිනිසුන්ට එගොඩ වීමට බෝට්ටු (ෆෙරි) භාවිතා කිරීමට සිදු වූ අතර, දැන් ඒ සඳහා ගත වන්නේ ඉතා කෙටි වේලාවකි.
