The Manmunai Bridge is a beautiful and important bridge located in the Batticaloa District of Sri Lanka. It crosses over the famous Batticaloa Lagoon. Before this bridge was built, people had to use a small ferry boat to get from one side to the other, which was difficult and slow. Opened in 2014, this bridge is about 210 meters long and connects the land on the west side to the land on the east side. It was built with the help of the Japanese government and is a symbol of friendship between Sri Lanka and Japan.

🚗 By Car/Bike: If you have your own vehicle, drive south from Batticaloa towards Thalankudah and follow the signs to the bridge.

මන්මුනෙයි පාලම කියන්නේ මඩකලපුව දිස්ත්රික්කයේ පිහිටි ඉතාමත් ලස්සන සහ වැදගත් පාලමක්. මේ පාලම ඉදිවෙලා තියෙන්නේ සුප්රසිද්ධ මඩකලපුව කලපුව (Lagoon) හරහායි. මේ පාලම හදන්න කලින් ප්රදේශයේ ජනතාවට කලපුවෙන් එගොඩ වෙන්න පාවිච්චි කරන්න වුණේ පාරු සේවයක් (Ferry service). ඒක ඉතා අසීරු වගේම කාලය ගතවන වැඩක් වුණා. 2014 වසරේ විවෘත කරපු මේ පාලම මීටර් 210ක් පමණ දිගයි. ජපාන රජයේ (JICA) පූර්ණ සහයෝගය ඇතිව ඉදිවුණු මේ පාලම, ශ්රී ලංකාව සහ ජපානය අතර තියෙන මිත්රත්වයේ සංකේතයක් ලෙසත් හඳුන්වන්න පුළුවන්.
✅ වැදගත් සම්බන්ධතාවයක්: මඩකලපුවේ බටහිර වෙරළබඩ ප්රදේශ ප්රධාන භූමියත් එක්ක සම්බන්ධ කරන නිසා මේ පාලම ප්රවාහන කටයුතු වලට ඉතාම වැදගත්.
✅ කාලය ඉතුරු කරයි: පාලම හදන්න කලින් මිනිස්සුන්ට කලපුව වටේ කිලෝමීටර් 30ක් විතර දුර රවුමක් යන්න හරි, පාරුව එනකම් බලාගෙන ඉන්න හරි සිද්ධ වුණා. දැන් විනාඩියෙන් එගොඩ මෙගොඩ වෙන්න පුළුවන්!
✅ ලස්සන දර්ශන: පාලම උඩ ඉඳන් බැලුවම කලපුවේ වතුර පිරුනු අපූරු දසුනක් බලාගන්න පුළුවන්. නැගෙනහිර පළාතේ සොබාසෞන්දර්ය විඳගන්න මේක නියම තැනක්.

➡️ මූල්ය ආධාර: ජපාන රජයේ ජාත්යන්තර සහයෝගිතා ආයතනයේ (JICA) ආධාර මගින් ඉදිකරන ලද්දකි.
➡️ පිහිටීම: ඒ-4 (A4) මාර්ගය ආශ්රිත පොතුවිල් සහ මඩකලපුව ප්රදේශ යා කරන ස්ථානයක පිහිටා ඇත.
➡️ ව්යුහය: වාහනවලට වගේම පයින් යන අයටත් ආරක්ෂිතව ගමන් කළ හැකි ශක්තිමත් සිමෙන්ති පාලමකි.
🌟 ඡායාරූප ගැනීම: ඉර නගින වෙලාවට සහ ඉර බහින වෙලාවට කලපුවේ ලස්සන ඡායාරූප ගන්න මේක කියාපු තැනක්.
🌟 සවස ඇවිදීම: හවසට එන සිසිල් හුළං වැදි වැදි පාලම දිගේ නිදහසේ ඇවිදින්න යන්න පුළුවන් (Evening walk).
🌟 ධීවර කර්මාන්තය දැකගැනීම: කලපුවේ පොඩි බෝට්ටු වලින් මාළු අල්ලන ධීවරයින්ව මෙතන ඉඳන් බලාගන්න පුළුවන්.
🌟 ළඟපාත තැන් වලට යෑම: මඩකලපුව ලයිට් හවුස් (ප්රදීපාගාරය) සහ පැරණි ඕලන්ද කොටු පවුර වගේ තැන්වලට මේ පාලම හරහා ලේසියෙන් යන්න පුළුවන්.
මඩකලපුව නගරයේ සිට ඉතා පහසුවෙන් මන්මුනෙයි පාලම වෙත ළඟා වෙන්න පුළුවන්.
🚌 බස් එකේ: කාත්තන්කුඩි (Kattankudy) හෝ පඩිප්පලෙයි (Paddipalai) දෙසට යන බස් රථයක නැගලා මේ පාලම හරහා යන්න පුළුවන්.
🛺 ත්රී වීල් එකේ: මඩකලපුව ටවුන් එකෙන් ත්රී වීල් එකක් අරගෙන වුනත් යන්න පුළුවන්. දුර අඩු නිසා ගාණත් අඩුයි.
🚗 වාහනයක: තමන්ගේම වාහනයක යනවා නම් මඩකලපුවේ ඉඳන් දකුණු දෙසට තලන්කුඩා (Thalankudah) පාරේ ගිහින් පාලම දෙසට යන්න.
මෙතනට ගියාම හිතට ලොකු නිදහසක් දැනෙනවා. පාලම උඩින් යනකොට දෙපැත්තෙම තියෙන නිල් පාට වතුර සහ එන සිසිල් සුළඟ නිසා ගතටත් හිතටත් පුදුම සහනයක් ලැබෙනවා. නගරයේ වාහන තදබදයෙන් මිදිලා පොඩි විවේකයක් ගන්න මේක හොඳ තැනක්. ඒ වගේම ඉස්සර පාරු වලින් යන්න මිනිස්සු කොච්චර දුක් වින්දද කියලත්, මේ නව පාලම නිසා ඒ අයගේ ජීවිත කොච්චර ලේසි වුනාද කියලත් ඔබටම බලාගන්න පුළුවන් වෙයි.
⚠️ පරෙස්සම: පයින් යනවා නම් පදික වේදිකාවේ (pavement) විතරක් යන්න. වාහන යන පාරට බහින්න එපා.
⚠️ කාලගුණය: දවල් කාලයේ මඩකලපුවට අව්ව සැර වෙන්න පුළුවන්. ඒ නිසා තොප්පියක් හෝ කුඩයක් ගෙනියන්න අමතක කරන්න එපා.
⚠️ වතුර: පාලම දිගේ ඇවිදිනවා නම් බොන්න වතුර බෝතලයක් ළඟ තියාගන්න.
⚠️ පිරිසිදුකම: කරුණාකරලා කලපුවට ප්ලාස්ටික් හෝ කුණු දාන්න එපා. පරිසරය ලස්සනට තියාගන්න උදව් වෙන්න.
අවසාන වශයෙන් කියනවා නම්, මන්මුනෙයි පාලම කියන්නේ නිකම්ම පාරක් නෙවෙයි, ඒක මඩකලපුවේ ජනතාවගේ ජීවිත පහසු කරපු වටිනා සම්පතක්. ඔබ විනෝදයට යන සංචාරකයෙක් වුණත්, ප්රදේශයේ කෙනෙක් වුණත් මේ පාලම නිසා ගමන බොහොම ලේසි වෙනවා වගේම ලස්සන අත්දැකීමකුත් ලැබෙනවා. ඔබ නැගෙනහිර පළාතේ සංචාරය කරනවා නම් අනිවාර්යයෙන්ම බලන්න යන්න ඕන තැනක් තමයි මේ!
