Bopath Ella

Bopath Ella is one of the most famous and beautiful waterfalls in Sri Lanka. It is located in the Ratnapura District, near a small village called Agalwatta. The waterfall gets its name because its shape looks exactly like the leaf of a Bo tree (Sacred Fig).

The water falls from a height of about 30 meters. It is formed by the Kuru Ganga, which is a branch of the Kalu Ganga river. Because it is very close to the capital city of Colombo, it is a very popular spot for locals to visit on the weekends.

🚌 By Bus: Take a bus from Colombo to Ratnapura or Badulla. Get off at Kuruwita town. From there, you can take a local bus or a Tuk-Tuk to the waterfall entrance.
