Crocodile Rock is a famous natural landmark located just south of Arugam Bay on the east coast of Sri Lanka. It gets its name because the shape of the rock looks exactly like a giant crocodile basking in the sun!

The area is a beautiful mix of a sandy beach, a calm lagoon, and a rocky hill that you can easily climb. It is much quieter than the main Arugam Bay beach, making it a favorite spot for travelers who want to enjoy nature without the crowds. From the top of the rock, you get a 360-degree view of the ocean, the jungle, and the nearby lagoons.

This spot is a “must – visit” for several reasons.

🌟Epic Sunsets: It is arguably the best place in the area to watch the sun go down over the lagoon and jungle.

📌How to Get There

🛺 Tuk – tuk: The most common way. Ask a driver in Arugam Bay to take you there (about a 15-minute ride).

🛵 Scooter: Rent a scooter and drive south. You will need to park near the edge of the road and walk across the sand to reach the rock.

🚶 Beach Walk: If you enjoy long walks, you can walk along the shore from Arugam Bay. But it takes about an hour or more.

ක්‍රොකොඩයිල් රොක්

ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ නැගෙනහිර වෙරළ තීරයේ, ආරුගම්බේ ප්‍රදේශයට මදක් දකුණින් පිහිටා ඇති “ක්‍රොකොඩයිල් රොක්” නැතිනම් කිඹුල් ගල කියන්නේ සොබාදහමේ අපූරු නිර්මාණයක්. මෙම ගල දෙස බැලූ විට අව්වේ ලැග සිටින දැවැන්ත කිඹුලෙකුගේ හැඩය ගන්නා නිසා මෙයට මේ නම ලැබී තිබෙනවා. මෙහි එක් පැත්තකින් සුන්දර මුහුදු වෙරළත්, අනෙක් පැත්තෙන් කලපුවත්, මැදින් ඔබට නැගිය හැකි කුඩා කඳු ගැටයකුත් පිහිටා තිබෙනවා.

📌ඇයි ඔබ මෙහි යා යුත්තේ

මෙම ස්ථානය නැරඹීමට යා යුතු ප්‍රධාන හේතු කිහිපයක් මෙන්න.

🌟අපූරු හිරු බැසීම: කලපුවට සහ කැලෑවට ඉහළින් හිරු බැස යන අයුරු නැරඹීමට මෙය කලාපයේ ඇති හොඳම ස්ථානයකි.

🌟සර්ෆින් (Surfing): සර්ෆින් ක්‍රීඩාවට කැමති අයට, විශේෂයෙන්ම ආරම්භක මට්ටමේ අයට මෙහි රළ ඉතාමත් සුදුසුයි.

🛺 ටුක් – ටුක් මගින්: ආරුගම්බේ සිට විනාඩි 15ක පමණ ගමනකි. රියදුරෙකුට පැවසුවහොත් ඔවුන් ඔබව එතැනට රැගෙන යනු ඇත.

🛵 ස්කූටර් මගින්: කුලියට ගත් බයිසිකලයකින් දකුණු දෙසට ගොස් පාර අයිනේ නතර කර, වැලි තලාව හරහා ඇවිදගෙන ගල වෙත යා හැකියි.

🚶 වෙරළ දිගේ ඇවිදීම: ඔබට ඇවිදීමට හැකියාව තිබේ නම් ආරුගම්බේ සිට පැයක් පමණ වෙරළ දිගේ ඇවිදගෙන එන්න පුළුවන්.

📌සංචාරකයින්ට ලැබෙන අත්දැකීම

මෙය සැබෑ වික්‍රමාන්විත අත්දැකීමක්. ජනාකීර්ණ නගරයෙන් මිදී වනගත පරිසරයකට ඇතුළු වූ හැඟීමක් මෙහිදී ඔබට දැනේවි. සාගරයේ රළ හඬත්, වන අලි දැකීමේ කුතුහලයත් සමඟ සිතට මහා පුදුම සැහැල්ලුවක් දැනෙන තැනක් තමයි මේ.

⚠️සපත්තු පළඳින්න: අව්වට රත් වූ ගල මත ඇවිදීමට සපත්තු පැළඳීම වඩාත් සුදුසුයි.

⚠️අලි ගැන අවධානයෙන්: වන අලි දුටුවහොත් ආරක්ෂිත දුරක් තබා ගන්න. ඔවුන්ට ළඟට යාමට හෝ කෑම දීමට උත්සාහ කරන්න එපා.

⚠️කලපුව ගැන අනතුරු ඇඟවීම්: කලපුවේ කිඹුලන් සිටින බැවින් කලපු ජලයට බැසීමෙන් හෝ එහි පිහිනීමෙන් වළකින්න.

⚠️අවශ්‍ය දෑ රැගෙන යන්න: මෙහි කඩ සාප්පු නැති බැවින් වතුර සහ හිරු රශ්මියෙන් ආරක්ෂා වීමට අවශ්‍ය දේ රැගෙන යන්න.

ක්‍රොකොඩයිල් රොක් කියන්නේ වික්‍රමාන්විත බව, සර්ෆින් ක්‍රීඩාව සහ වන සතුන් එකම තැනකදී දැකගත හැකි අපූරු තැනක්. ඔබ හිරු බැස යන දර්ශනයක් බලන්න ගියත්, සර්ෆින් කරන්න ගියත් මේ ස්ථානය ඔබේ මතකයේ නොමැකී රැඳෙනු නොඅනුමානයි!
