Athugala Rock

Athugala Rock, also known as Elephant Rock, is a massive natural rock formation located in the heart of Kurunegala, Sri Lanka. It gets its name because, from a distance, the shape of the rock looks exactly like a giant crouching elephant. Standing at about 316 meters high, it dominates the city skyline. At the very top, there is a stunning 88-foot tall white Buddha statue that watches over the town. It is one of the most famous landmarks in the North Western Province.
