Surathali Falls is a beautiful waterfall located in the Ratnapura District of Sri Lanka. It is about 60 meters (197 feet) high. The waterfall is special because it is not a direct vertical drop; instead, the water slides down a big rock surface. It got its name from a famous old Sinhala film called “Surathali,” which was filmed at this location. It is very close to the main road, making it a popular stop for travelers going towards the hill country.
You should visit Surathali Falls because it is one of the easiest waterfalls to see in Sri Lanka. You don’t have to hike for hours to reach it. It’s a perfect place to take a break during a long drive, breathe in some fresh air, and see the beauty of nature without much effort.
The waterfall is fed by a stream starting from the Horton Plains National Park. It is surrounded by a thick forest area, which keeps the environment cool and misty. Even during the dry season, there is usually some water flowing, but it looks most powerful after a bit of rain.

සුරතලී ඇල්ල පිහිටා තිබෙන්නේ රත්නපුර දිස්ත්රික්කයේ බෙලිහුල්ඔය ප්රදේශයට ආසන්නවයි. මෙහි උස මීටර් 60ක් (අඩි 197ක්) පමණ වේ. මෙම දිය ඇල්ලේ විශේෂත්වය වන්නේ ජලය කෙලින්ම පහළට ඇද හැලෙන්නේ නැතිව, විශාල ගල් පර්වතයක් මතුපිටින් ලිස්සා ගලා යාමයි. 1950 දශකයේ තිරගත වූ “සුරතලී” නම් පැරණි සිංහල චිත්රපටයේ දර්ශන කිහිපයක් මෙහි රූගත කළ නිසා මීට මෙම නම ලැබී ඇත. ප්රධාන මාර්ගයට ඉතා සමීපව පිහිටා ඇති නිසා ඕනෑම කෙනෙකුට පහසුවෙන් මෙය නැරඹිය හැකියි.
ලංකාවේ පිහිටි දිය ඇලි අතරින් ඉතාමත් පහසුවෙන් ළඟා විය හැකි දිය ඇල්ලක් නිසා ඔබ මෙය නැරඹිය යුතුමයි. මෙය බැලීමට ඔබට කඳු හෙල් මැද පැය ගණන් පයින් ඇවිදීමට අවශ්ය නැත. දුර ගමනක් යන අතරතුර විඩාව නිවා ගැනීමටත්, පිරිසිදු වාතය ආශ්වාස කර ස්වභාව සෞන්දර්යය විඳ ගැනීමටත් මෙය කදිම ස්ථානයකි.
හෝර්ටන් තැන්න රක්ෂිතයෙන් ආරම්භ වන කුඩා දිය දහරාවකින් මෙම දිය ඇල්ල නිර්මාණය වේ. වසරේ ඕනෑම කාලයක මෙහි ජලය ගලා ගියත්, වැසි කාලයෙන් පසුව දිය ඇල්ල වඩාත් සුන්දරව දර්ශනය වේ. දිය ඇල්ල අවට ඝන වනාන්තරයක් පවතින නිසා පරිසරය සැමවිටම සිසිල්ව සහ මීදුමෙන් බරව පවතී.

🌟 සතුන් නැරඹීම: අවට ඇති වනාන්තරයේ වෙසෙන කුරුල්ලන් සහ සමනලුන් නැරඹීමට අවස්ථාව ලැබේ.
🚗 මෙම දිය ඇල්ල පිහිටා ඇත්තේ කොළඹ – බදුල්ල (A4) ප්රධාන මාර්ගය අසලමයි.
📍 බෙලිහුල්ඔය සහ හල්දුම්මුල්ල නගර දෙක අතර මෙය පිහිටා ඇත.
🚶 A4 මාර්ගයේ කිලෝමීටර් 169 කණුව (169th km post) අසලින් දිය ඇල්ලට යන මාර්ගය හමුවේ. පාරේ සිට විනාඩි කිහිපයක් පයින් ඇවිද ගිය විට ඔබට දිය ඇල්ල දැකගත හැකියි.
මෙහි පැමිණෙන ඔබට පුදුමාකාර නිදහසක් සහ නැවුම් බවක් දැනෙනු ඇත. දිය ඇල්ලෙන් විහිදෙන සියුම් දිය බිංදු ඇඟේ වැදෙන විට දැනෙන සිසිලස ඉතාමත් ප්රබෝධමත්ය. නගරයේ ඝෝෂාවෙන් බැහැරව ස්වභාවධර්මය සමඟ සුළු වේලාවක් ගත කිරීමට ලැබීම මනසට විශාල සැනසීමක් ලබා දෙයි.
⚠️ ආරක්ෂාව: දිය ඇල්ල අවට ඇති ගල් ඉතා ලිස්සන සුළුයි. ඒ නිසා හොඳින් ග්රහණය පවතින පාවහන් පළඳින්න. ගල් මත නැගීමට උත්සාහ නොකරන්න.
⚠️ පරිසරය සුරකින්න: ප්ලාස්ටික් බෝතල් හෝ කෑම කොළ පරිසරයට දමන්න එපා. ඔබ ගෙන යන දේවල් නැවත රැගෙන ඒමට කටයුතු කරන්න.
⚠️ වැසි කාලය: ඉහළ කඳුකරයට අධික වැසි පවතින විට ජල මට්ටම ක්ෂණිකව ඉහළ යා හැකි නිසා වැසි දිනවලදී වඩාත් පරීක්ෂාකාරී වන්න.
⚠️ පහසුව: ඇවිදීමට පහසු ඇඳුම් සහ පාවහන් භාවිතා කිරීම වඩාත් සුදුසුයි.
සුරතලී ඇල්ල යනු ඕනෑම කෙනෙකුට ඉතා පහසුවෙන් ළඟා වී සතුටු විය හැකි සොබාදහමේ අපූරු නිර්මාණයකි. ඔබ සොබාදහමට ලැදි කෙනෙක් නම් හෝ දුර ගමනක් යන අතරතුර විවේකයක් ගැනීමට සොයන කෙනෙක් නම්, සුරතලී ඇල්ල අනිවාර්යයෙන්ම නැරඹිය යුතු තැනකි. ඔබේ සංචාරයට මෙය අමතක නොවන සුන්දර අත්දැකීමක් එක් කරනු නිසැකයි.
