       Gal Oya National Park: Sri Lanka’s Hidden Wilderness & Elephant Sanctuary

      Gal Oya National Park, established in 1954, is a 25,900-hectare protected area in Sri Lanka’s Uva and Eastern provinces. Famous for its elephant herds and the massive Senanayake Samudraya reservoir, this park is a biodiversity hotspot where wildlife thrives in forests, grasslands, and wetlands. A unique boat safari experience sets it apart from other parks, offering rare glimpses of animals swimming between islands!
