Deegawapiya is an ancient and highly sacred Buddhist temple located in the Ampara District of the Eastern Province, Sri Lanka. It is famously known as one of the “Solosmasthana” (the 16 most sacred places in the country). Because it is believed that Lord Buddha visited this site during his third visit to the island. Built in the 3rd century BCE by King Saddhatissa, this massive stupa stands as a symbol of our rich spiritual history.

⚠️Dress Code: As this is a religious site, please wear white or light-colored clothing that covers your shoulders and knees.
⚠️Beat the Heat: The area can get very hot. It is best to visit in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid the burning sun on the stone floors.
⚠️Wild Elephant Alert: Since the temple is surrounded by forest areas, be cautious of wild elephants if you are traveling during late evening or night.

දීඝවාපිය කියන්නේ ශ්රී ලංකාවේ නැගෙනහිර පළාතේ, අම්පාර දිස්ත්රික්කයේ පිහිටා තිබෙන ඉතාමත් පෞරාණික සහ පූජනීය බෞද්ධ සිද්ධස්ථානයක්. මෙය බුදුන් වහන්සේගේ පා පහස ලැබූ “සොළොස්මස්ථාන” (අති පූජනීය ස්ථාන 16) වලින් එකක් විදිහට හඳුන්වනවා. ක්රිස්තු පූර්ව 3 වැනි සියවසේදී සද්ධාතිස්ස රජතුමා විසින් මෙම දැවැන්ත ස්තූපය ඉදිකර තිබෙනවා. වර්තමානයේ මෙම චෛත්යය නැවතත් පැරණි ශ්රී විභූතියෙන් යුතුව ප්රතිසංස්කරණය කරමින් පවතිනවා.
🌟සොළොස්මස්ථානයක් වීම: බුදුන් වහන්සේ වැඩම කළ පූජනීය භූමියක් වැඳපුදා ගැනීමට ලැබීම මහත් වාසනාවක්.
🌟ඉතිහාසය: ලංකාවේ පැරණි දිගාමඩුල්ල රාජධානියේ තොරතුරු සහ පැරණි ඉදිකිරීම් මෙහිදී දැකගත හැකියි.
🌟ආගමික ශාන්තිය: නගරයෙන් බැහැරව ඉතා නිස්කලංක පරිසරයක පිහිටා ඇති නිසා සිතට ලොකු සහනයක් දැනෙනවා.

➡️පුරාවිද්යා වටිනාකම: කැණීම් වලදී හමුවූ පැරණි ශිලා ලේඛන සහ කලා නිර්මාණ රාශියක් මේ අවට දැකගත හැකියි.
✅වන්දනාමාන කිරීම: ප්රධාන චෛත්යය සහ බුදු මැදුර වැඳපුදා ගැනීම.
✅ඡායාරූපකරණය: පැරණි නටබුන් සහ ස්වභාවික පරිසරයේ සුන්දරත්වය ඡායාරූපයට නැගීම.
✅භාවනා කිරීම: පන්සල් භූමියේ ඇති නිස්කලංක බව නිසා භාවනා කිරීමට ඉතා සුදුසුයි.
🚗 අම්පාර නගරයේ සිට: අම්පාර නගරයේ සිට කිලෝමීටර් 18ක් පමණ දුරින් මෙය පිහිටා තිබෙනවා. අම්පාර-ඉරක්කාමම් මාර්ගය හරහා පහසුවෙන් ළඟා විය හැකියි.
🚌 පොදු ප්රවාහනය: අම්පාර නගරයේ සිට දීඝවාපිය දක්වා ගමන් කරන බස් රථ ලබාගත හැකියි.
මෙම පුදබිමට පැමිණෙන ඔබට ලැබෙන්නේ අමුතුම ආධ්යාත්මික සුවයක්. වියළි කලාපීය පරිසරයත්, ඒ මැද නැගී එන දැවැන්ත චෛත්ය රාජයාත් දකින විට පැරණි සිංහල රජ දවස ගැන මහත් ආඩම්බරයක් සිතට දැනෙනවා. ඒ වගේම ප්රදේශවාසීන්ගේ ආගන්තුක සත්කාරත් ඔබට අත්විඳින්න පුළුවන්.
⚠️ඇඳුම් පැළඳුම්: පූජනීය ස්ථානයක් බැවින් සුදු පැහැති, ශරීරය වැසෙන සිනසුණු ඇඳුම් ඇඳීම වඩාත් සුදුසුයි.
⚠️අව් රශ්මිය: දවල් කාලයේ දැඩි හිරු රශ්මියක් පවතින නිසා කුඩයක් හෝ තොප්පියක් රැගෙන යන්න. සලපතල මළුව රත් විය හැකි නිසා උදෑසන හෝ සවස් කාලයේ වන්දනා කිරීමට උත්සාහ කරන්න.
⚠️අලින්ගෙන් ප්රවේශම් වන්න: පන්සල අවට කැලෑබද ප්රදේශයක් බැවින් සවස් කාලයේ ගමන් කිරීමේදී වල් අලි ගැන අවධානයෙන් සිටින්න.
