Alu Viharaya

Alu Viharaya, also known as the Aluvihare Rock Temple, is a very famous and sacred Buddhist temple located in the Matale District of Sri Lanka. It is tucked away among large rocks and lush green hills. This place is world-famous because it is where the teachings of the Buddha (the Tripitaka) were first written down on palm leaves over 2,000 years ago. 🚂 By Train: You can take a train to Matale station and then take a short tuk-tuk ride to the temple.
