Hathmale Falls (also known as Sathmale Ella) is a stunning waterfall located in the Matara District, near Deniyaya. It is about 45 meters high and 10 meters wide. This waterfall is very special because the water flows down in seven distinct layers or segments. It is the tallest waterfall that flows into the Ginganga River.

📌 How to Get There 

🚗 Travel to Deniyaya Town in the Matara district.

🚗 Take the Deniyaya-Pallegama Road for about 7 km.

🚗 Look for the Hathmale Ella Road sign on the right side (just before the Pallegama Bridge).

🚗 Follow this road for about 1 km. It ends near a private garden.

🚗 From there, you can walk or use a 4WD vehicle for the last 250 meters before climbing down to the falls.
