Originally designated as a bird sanctuary, Chundikkulam Lagoon has evolved into a rich biodiversity hotspot, featuring:

Following the Sri Lankan Civil War (2009), the area was controlled by the military, limiting access. However, in 2015, Chundikkulam was upgraded to a National Park, securing its status as a protected wildlife haven.

චුන්ඩික්කුලම් යනු වනජීවීන් රැසකගේ නිවහනක් වන අතර, එය සොබාදහමට ආදරය කරන්නන් අනිවාර්යයෙන්ම නැරඹිය යුතු ස්ථානයකි:
